It’s Getting to be every time I Think About Walden University; I Get Irate!

I Feel Ripped-Off And Abused.

It has been six years since I enrolled at Walden University. And it took them less than six months to charge me $3,797 personally and send it to a collection agency, which is the only thing negative on my credit bureau profile as a collection account. I have over $170,000 in student loans from two Universities, why was this one so different?

My name is Dr. Donald E. Mitchell, and I have a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from California InterContinental University. I enrolled at Walden University in May 2014 to obtain my Doctorate in Business Administration-Marketing. No matter what business one is in, their brand, effected by the personnel who works within the entity, so it is here.

After a short time being enrolled, I asked my student counselor could I take a short leave of absence, and she said yes. Now mind you, I was getting funded to go to Walden through student loans. So, my student councilor approved the leave of absence, which I still have on file; however, while on leave of absence, she contacted me and said the University had to return the money to the government.

She then went on to say that I was going to be charged personally due to myself taking this leave past a certain cut-off point. I said, ok, why did you not inform me of this before I went on leave? It was at this point she shifted the blame to me, stating I should have known this, for this is written somewhere in the student documents that were given to me. I was totally outdone; what was the purpose then of getting advice from my student counselor, what then is her mission to students?

So, in January 2015, I continued my studies at California InterContinental University, where I graduated with a 3.82 GPA, and received my Doctorate in Business. It was conferred in August 2018 and physically received in September 2018. In October 2018, Veterans Hospital diagnosed me with lung cancer, and later it moved to Lung cancer metastatic to the bone, which I have been battling for almost two years.

Nevertheless, with God’s grace, family support, and good doctors at Northwestern Hospital here in Chicago, I have made it this far but was given less than a 10% chance of survival the first year. I have my good days and learned to rest when feeling fatigued, but days like this one, I get indignant about paying for someone else mistake when it is hard enough to pay for my own. So, to calm me down, the only thing I can do is write about this with hopes that I can gear someone not to go to Walden University. But to choose my two Alma Mater schools that I graduated from (1) American InterContinental University, and (2) California InterContinental University.

Thus, as of 8/25/2020, I am still struggling to get this charge-off taken off my credit profile. But the question is, why did Walden University just put this $3,397 on my student loans? And why am I paying for someone else blunder? So, tell me social media do I have a right to be outraged? Please reply, for I need to know what you think, send your comment to my blog.
